History

ebTalk has been online longer than Facebook, Shockernet, Twitter and many other sites. After years of running NFL Pick Em Leagues, Fantasy Football, NFL Survivor Leagues and other random events, it was only a matter of time before an NCAA Tournament Pool was added. The ebTalk Tournament Pool started in 2007 and has become a staple of the many events ebTalk has thrown.

We started in off in 2007 with expectations of around 50 entries and exceeded that with 82 brackets. Our very first bracket received was from Brian Brotemarkle with our second being from Drew Droegemeir and number three, Robert Brown. Danny Payne put in our 50th entry which was our goal which we passed. Our first year saw Brian Howell win the crown as the first champion. In 2008, we hit over 100 entries. It was very exciting to hit triple digits in just our second year. Our 100th bracket received was from Jared Liebl. That season, Brandon Kasel took him the championship. 2009 was a monumental year. Shelley Schroeder became the first female to win the pool. We also reached over 150 brackets, increasing total brackets by ~40 entries from the previous year. 2010, our 500th career bracket was Chad Tredway. Overall we had 246 brackets well over our goal of 200 for that year. Francis Westphal took home the title as champion in the year of 2010.

With 2011 upon us, we look to expand the fun. The OVERTIME! Second Chance Pool will be back for another year. A new option to play for those who have their brackets knocked out after the second round. This year we also may net our 750th career bracket if we can receive at least 250 brackets in this years pool. Look forward to what this season has in store for everybody.
